Granth EV – FD Motors has launched two models of electric scooters based on the Nepalese terrain. The e-bikes, F5 and F5-A, have been made available to the public through the efforts of Nepalese youths. These electric scooters were designed by Italian engineers and assembled in China, with necessary features provided through coordination with the team.
According to Granth EV founder and CEO, Sujan Dhungel, the necessary features were made available in the scooters after conducting extensive research and study, aiming to cater to the Nepalese market’s needs. Various parts and materials used in the production of the scooters were manufactured by different companies and made available through Granth EV coordination.
FD Motors’ e-scooters differ from those currently available in the Nepalese market. The scooters have a side-drive motor that attaches to the side of the rear tire, providing excellent performance even on steep inclines. The battery used in the scooters is a lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) battery, with a capacity of 2,000 cycles, and lasts longer than lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries.
The e-scooters are equipped with a hydraulic suspension system, which provides a smoother ride on uneven terrain. The F5-A model also features a detachable battery, making it easier to replace the battery when needed. The e-scooters have received positive feedback from users, and FD Motors hopes to make them more widely available in the future.
Features and Price
The scooter has used 16-inch and 14-inch tires on both electric scooters models. These scooters have a side drive motor which allows them to easily maneuver through traffic. Additionally, the company claims that these motors provide excellent and powerful performance.
Both scooters use a Lithium Ferro Phosphate battery, with the best lithium phosphate available in the market. The battery also allows for extended range. The F5 model has a 60-volt, 30-ampere battery, while the F5-A uses a 60-volt, 45-ampere battery.
The battery comes with a 3-year warranty and the motor comes with a 2-year warranty. The scooter will fully charge in about 4.5 hours. With a fast charger, it can be charged in 2 hours. Once fully charged, the F5 model will have a range of 70-90 kilometers and the F5-A model will have a range of 90-110 kilometers.
Both scooters use a regenerative brake system that recharges the battery when the brake is applied, thereby increasing the range. A fast charger is also included with both models. Both scooters are equipped with a CAN bus communication controller, which displays all information in one place.
